Hi everyone! MFS hit 100 subscribers this week! To celebrate, I went through all the chapters of the current running story (titled “My Favorite Suspects” and yes, I know that’s confusing, sorry) and made sure they weren’t behind the paywall, which kicks in after 6 months. If you recently joined, check out the Story Guide, conveniently linked below, and pick up on the events from the first chapter.
Story Guide: My Favorite Suspects
“My Favorite Suspects” (mystery/amateur sleuth) combines techniques from cozy mysteries, noir crime thrillers, and autobiography. It’s set in a contemporary American city and features an amateur sleuth who has his own peculiar way of interrogating the subjects of his investigations. This story inspired me to create the My Favorite Suspects Substack.
Thank you, each & every one of you, for giving me inspiration to keep MFS going. This past year has been really tough going in terms of writing (and other things) and I’ve learned many lessons about indie publishing and have taken my writing in new directions. (So technically this is my one-year-on-Substack retrospective?)
The “My Favorite Suspects” series is coming to a close — yes, really, and I know I keep saying that, but this time it’s true! Just two more chapters to wrap things up and see if Terry will really carry through with his plan regarding Miller, and maybe if he can find a few things out about the mysterious possibly-friend possibly-enemy Luna. The last chapters have been drafted and I’m going through the edit & revision process.
