Hi everyone. Unfortunately, I’ve picked up Covid last week and have been dealing with that. This has thrown off my plans for the next mystery/thriller series that you’ll see here (titled They Also Breathe Fire) and for publishing the novelization of the My Favorite Suspects serialized story.
Sorry to spam your mailboxes with this trivia. My goal for MFS is to have a low-frequency, high-content substack, but I’ve gained a few new followers and subscribers over the past month who may not be familiar with the lazy cadence of publishing from MFS so I wanted to assure you that more stories are on the way.
This is the first time I’ve had Covid and it’s really knocked me back. Aside from the physical symptoms, my brain has been really foggy, I haven’t had much sleep, and overall my mood has been really down. I’m not in a good psychological space for writing or editing.
Reading has also been a challenge. Over the past week I struggled my way through a very short mystery novel and had to backtrack many times. I’ll have to reread it when I’m well.
On the positive side I’ve been able to isolate and have the support of my lovely wife and family. I’m also blessed to have a great day job and fully supportive team there. These are luxuries that many people, let alone writers, don’t have, so I mention them now in gratitude.
Anyway, as I type this, my marketing assistant Wallace is currently curled up next to me and wondering why I’m not eating, and I’m just going to close my eyes for a bit.
So take care and stay healthy.
Get well soon!
I hope you feel better soon. Covid is such a beast!
