First of all, welcome to all the new subscribers! Did you check out The Case Of The Elevator Assault? I updated the post so it should be featured on the landing page. It’s a one & done (flash fiction) that’s based on a true story (fun, but not representative of the others) and I’m using it to beta test layouts and the UI.
More stories are on the way! I’m making some tweaks to my Substack home page first.
To help you, I’m using a new feature that Substack just rolled out: tags. From now on, I’ll add tags to posts which should make it easier to navigate and find content.
The tags (so far) are:
fiction: all posts that contain fiction
serial: all serialized fiction
one&done: all non-serialized fiction (typically flash fiction)
essay: for essays (non-fiction)
updates: news & housekeeping info about this Substack
The idea I have is that you can go to the Home page and use the top menu to find the posts you want. You should be able to click on the fiction tag to see all the stories by date, and then narrow it down from there. For example, I’ll publish all the Terry Perez serialized stories with the tags “fiction” and “serial,” and if it’s not too clumsy, use “terry-perez” too. Or maybe you’ve been away for a while and just want a quick read, so you can look for the “one&done” tag.
Something else you may notice are images! I’m working at adding a visual for each fiction post that helps set the mood for that entry.
Sound good? It’s kind of a voyage of discovery for me. Thanks for bearing with me as I learn this new platform.
Please like this post if you enjoyed reading this. I’d love to hear your comments, too!
